Early Exposure
Early exposure to rhymes, tickle games, songs and instruments reinforce core first year developmental milestones such as eye contact, object permanence, and bonding.
In these interactive workshops, our Mini Musicians enjoy action songs, topical songs, instrumental songs and dances that stimulate natural responses to music.
Instruments, suitable for each age group, such as maracas, cage bells, castanets and drums are used, as well as colourful scarves and parachutes for movement.
The classes are based on the latest research in infant musical development and help to develop listening and motor skills.
Classes are 30 minutes and require the participation of the carers, with the exception of the Mini Maxi and Junior/Senior Infant classes. Junior and Senior Mini classes are 45 minutes.
Our Toddler and Baby classes are held in Dundrum & National Concert Hall, but we’re adding new venues! So keep checking back.
Preparing for an instrument
Unlock your child's musical potential with Mini Music's comprehensive instrument preparation classes. Our age-specific songs and activities are carefully designed to nurture their inner musician. Led by our specially trained Mini Music teachers, each class follows our unique curriculum, guiding your child from their earliest stages to being fully prepared to embark on their musical journey.
Time to Sing:
Immerse yourself in the power of voice. During this segment, parents and children bond over familiar songs and nursery rhymes with a delightful twist. Join us in this harmonious experience!
Time to Move:
Let's get moving to the rhythm! Our baby class starts with simple gestures and movements, gradually progressing to lively circle dances in our Maestros class. Colorful props such as parachutes, scarves, and ribbons enhance our expression of the music through actions like jumping, creeping, dancing, and marching.
Time to Play:
It's time for our Mini Musicians to take the stage! Using a fascinating array of specially crafted percussion instruments for little hands, we begin by emphasizing a steady beat. As they progress, they learn to create rhythmic patterns and exciting accompaniments to the music. Ultimately, they even develop the ability to read and play music notation.
Time to Sleep:
At the end of each class, a peaceful moment awaits. Your child will enjoy the serenity of singing, learning a poem, cuddling up, and listening to beautiful classical music. For our older age groups, this is an ideal opportunity for budding musicians to practice active listening and explore the fascinating world of orchestral instruments."
